        Facts

        • The bay windows of the apartments are not aligned vertically, but move from floor to floor; in addition, window sizes vary from unit to unit.
        • The building's cladding is composed of 10,500 stainless steel panels, some flat, some undulating.
        • The building totals 1.1 million square feet. Although it is principally home to 903 rental apartments, it also houses a school, doctor's offices and retail in its podium, plus parking in the basement.
        • The five stories at the foot of the tower have a brick facade since the architect wanted the base to be in the spirit of the neighboring buildings.
        • The south side is a simple flat plane: this is intended to serve as a contrast to the other, undulating facades, while at the same time strengthening the structural composition.
        • As a result of the undulating facade, each apartment on the seven undulating sides of the building is configured differently.
        • According to the architect, the cumulative effect evoked the appearance of fabric draping over the building, so he developed the design to accentuate that effect.
