        Петербургский "Лахта Центр" стал первым российским небоскребом, который получил главную мировую премию в области высотной архитектуры Emporis. Здание признали лучшим сооружением, построенным в 2019 году. В общей сложности на звание лучшего в мире небоскреба претендовали 700 проектов. Второе место заняла пекинская Leeza Soho – один из последних проектов звезды мировой архитектуры Захи Хадид. Первую тройку замкнул "Хадсон Ярдс, 35" в Нью-Йорке, сообщается в Instagram Лахта Центра.

        Russia's 1,516ft tall Lakhta Center - the tallest building in Europe - is named skyscraper of the year for its dynamic 'blazing flame' shape and energy efficiency. A unique building that twists almost 90 full degrees has been named skyscraper of the year. Towering more than 1,500 feet above St. Petersburg, Russia, Lakhta Center has received Emporis' 2020 Skyscraper Award, beating out more than 700 buildings under consideration. The real-estate data company named Zaha Hadid's Leeza Soho in Beijing and 35 Hudson Yards in New York City second and third place winners, respectively.

        Information specialist Emporis has revealed the winner of its annual Skyscraper Award. From over 700 skyscrapers officially completed in 2019, the number one spot has gone to Russia's massive Lakhta Center, which rises to a maximum height of 462 m (1,516 ft) in St. Petersburg. The Lakhta Center, which was designed by Gorproject and RMJM, is Europe's tallest building and the 13th-tallest worldwide. Indeed, it's a huge project and construction involved 20,000 people from 18 countries. Its facade comprises 16,505 individual pieces of glass and the building takes the overall form of a spire with five wings that twist from top to bottom. Though most of the interior is given over to office space, it also features an observation deck and a restaurant boasting panoramic views of the area.

        The annual Emporis Skyscraper Awards unveiled ten winning tall projects today with the new Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, Russia taking the top spot this year. Standing 1,515 feet (462 meters) tall, the GORPROJECT & RMJM-designed headquarters for natural gas giant Gazprom is the tallest building in Russia as well as in Europe and ranks number 14 worldwide.
